Hi, I’m Camdyn Meigs — owner and operator of Brown Dog Trails and Excavation. After more than nine years working on trails, I’ve decided to take the leap and offer my services as an independent contractor.
I grew up in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom and found my passion early — skiing, riding, and being outside any chance I got. My first job was with the Kingdom Trails crew, where I learned the fundamentals of trail building and maintenance. From there, I was hooked. Over the years, I’ve worked with several trail building companies across Vermont, Idaho, and Utah, gaining experience in everything from hand-built singletrack to machine-built flow trails and light excavation.
The name Brown Dog is a tribute to Murphy — our beloved chocolate lab and my sidekick since the sandbox days. He was there from the very beginning, digging alongside me before I ever touched a real machine. This business is built on that same kind of loyalty, heart, and hard work.
With Brown Dog Trails and Excavation, I’m excited to bring that care and craftsmanship to projects throughout the region — helping communities, landowners, and riders create trails that are fun, functional, and built to last.
